"The product is fine, though the wood was quite wet. It was tiresome having to download the assembly instructions which are a one size fits all content. As a result if you buy a wider product they can look misleading as depth and width appear the wrong way round."

"Les encoches des lattes sont très fragiles, donc elles se cassent. Vu le prix ont ne peux pas s'attendre à quelques choses de parfait. Néanmoins satisfaite de l'achat. Cependant une planche de bois sur le dessus est indispensable ce qui n'est pas prévu dans cet achat."

"Ordered three composters. Packaging was fine. On opening the plastic wrapping we found a number of the wood sections were damaged. The composters could still be assembled, it was only the joint end. As long as you put these sections at the bottom it did not cause any problem. It was just a same would have preferred no damaged parts. Instructions where ok. screws where included"

"The compost bins were easy to put together but needed 2 people. They appear sturdy and easy to access but I think the compost will be hard to extract from the bottom in her future as the wooden slats are positioned up rather than down."

"Straight forward to assemble, but some of the notches were a bit tight and on one or two of the boards art of the bits between the notch and the end split off. Din't stop them going together OK, but I have a second one to assemble and am tempted to put a panel pin into these areas to prevent them splitting. Although they are already treated i have given the one I have assembled a coat of Cuprinol to match the shed next to it."

"you need to follow the instructions carefully and an electric screwdriver is essential. Make sure you size up the side support bars before you construct they were technically a bit short in length and we had to add on an extra bit. Good size of compost bin for a large garden."

"Mooie compostbak die makkelijk in elkaar is te zetten. Alleen de twee zijplanken waren voor de montage van de zijkanten tekort. Plankjes waren 60 cm lang in plaats van de benodigde 75 cm. Heb zelf toen maar twee nieuwe plankjes gekocht."

"I bought two, one only had 3 screws and a few of the end bits had fallen off, one was fine. However I got both of them together ok and they look good and will do the job fine. As long as you're not expecting something precision engineered (they needed a bit of persuasion with a hammer to slot together) then you'll be pleased. They are a good price and hold loads."

"It would have been even better if the slots in the wood had been cut a couple of millimetres wider so they didn't need enlarging to fit together without splitting the wood. This might have been unnecessary if the wood was completely dry."

"In principle these composters are completely functional, and slot together but when the wood is wet and they are a very tight fit. Using a rubber mallet to locate them snugly works as long as you don't Hit on the end of the plank near the slot as the small bit of wood to the end after the slot falls off, must make sure you only hit the plank on the inside of the slot. Also out of three composters one had all it's screws, one had most it's screws and one had no screws at all. Easily remedied when you are someone with lots of screws knocking around but annoying for others, Primrose may consider attaching screws in the middle of the pack as the ends/corners are well packaged but it doesn't take much for a sharp screw to make a hole and disappear."

"Good for the money, BUT: 1. They were soaking wet when they arrived, it was a few days before I could erect them and they were slimy. 2. The screws are in very flimsy bags which broke in all three of the packages, The screws were all over the place, I found only 14 over the three packages, had to replace 28. 3. A lot of the edge pieces broke off where the notches have been made."

"Again, I would rate this product as "OK". It looks very good when assembled, but the slots are not very accurately cut (most are too tight) meaning that many had to be enlarged before they would fit together without risk of splitting the wood."

"Quality very good, just one gripe.....the side strengthening bars proved to be a puzzle.... . the picture showed them starting at the base but they didn't reach the top which mean't that they only overlapped the top bar by 2''. For the sake of a little extra, wood wouldn't be better and stronger to run the height of the composter.and would be clearer for positioning too."

"Product is as described. Ordered 3 bins; there were a couple of broken pieces which didn't matter much. Unlike some reviews they were not the least bit difficult to assemble. Only quibble is that the side pieces are bit short making the final side pieces impossible to secure with the screws ... so used some old pieces of timber from my shed to fix them ... no great problem. The broken bits + short sides make this rating Good instead of Excellent."

"I'd read the reviews on the product so I expected it to be wet when unwrapped, but also found that four of the jointed ends had broken corners and the screws were missing. Unperturbed, I laid it all flat and dried it out for a couple of days before (very gently!) tapping it together with rubber mallet, and spending a few pence on the 14 screws required. No further breakages, and it's still completely functional, so not worth the hassle of messing the supplier around requesting replacement pieces etc. I would definitely recommend the product, but the quality control/handling could be improved."

"It looks like the product is stored outside until needed for an order at which time it is wrapped. If the wood is wet it stays wets during transport and does not present well on receipt. Having said that the product assembled OK and fits the bill perfectly."

"I ordered the large bin but the web site has no measurements but just cubic capacity which means little and is no help in fitting a bin to a space which is critical in an urban garden. I think the hight could have provided anothe flrxibility as I would have prefered it to be deeper and as the front is made of loose slats extra hight would present no difficulty in either filling or emptying."

"First the good aspects - the kit arrived promptly, the instructions were clear and all the parts were there. Less impressed with the fact that on one set at least the wood had been so recently treated with what looked like a copper solution that it was wet to the touch. This made it slippy and together with several badly cut notches meant I struggled to fit the kit together until my partner took it all away and recut a large number of joints. Some of the boards had already splintered off (where there was a knot in the wood )when I took them out of the packet,some were a couple of mms thicker than others (making the fit difficult.) The final good aspect is that now both bins are up and in use they do the job well and I still like the overall design with a removeable front. Maybe I was just expecting rather a lot for a bargain price. "

"You advised me that it wasn't in stock and an estimated date for delivery, and I was delighted that it came days before that. There was some slight damage to a couple of the pieces of wood, but I repaired these easily with wood glue. The upright piece of wood does not work if you follow the instructions as the gap is too big using another piece as a spacer. Finally, no screws were enclosed. However, it is just what I wanted and I was happy with the price so minor issues aside I would still recommend."

"A problem I found was that the timber components had been wrapped hermetically for some time and the wood had swollen with the humidity and it was difficult to get some members into the slots. I have actually planed the front members and widened their slots slightly so that they slide into position more easily without risk of splitting the side member at its slot - as happened once. While I appreciate the manufacturing advantage of having the slots all the same size, it would be better if the slots relating to the front members were a little wider. It would be good to suggest that the packs are opened and the contents kept in a dry place for a day or two for the swelling of the timber to subside."
