"I bought this item to discourage next door's cat from using my back yard as a loo. I had put up a 'barricade' which was working and on my return from holiday I removed most of it only to find a dump next morning. I have also seen the cat inches away from one of the repellents. It may be that the cat is deaf! I would mention that the instructions referred to red light but the ones that come on are blue. I did 'phone your office about this and was told the light meant that it was working."

"As other reviewers have said, the back is accessed by extremely small screws which are difficult to remove. Eventually accomplished by borrowing a suitably small screwdriver. The two repellers are now in place in the garden and there is definitely an improvement. However it has evidently not discouraged all our visitors and we shall have to experiment with moving them around and increasing sensitivity/frequency."

"Have purchased from Primrose before and have no issues with the service they provide. However information about setting up the product needs to be more informative. Two buttons are required to set the product up, however no information is included to advise where these should be set to. I have no idea whether I have set these correctly. I understands this differs depending on the animal I want to deter. Maybe some images of animals next to the frequency setting that needs to be set to deter that animal could be included."

"As already said, I set up the two cat repellent items on highest settings and faced them at the fence top (only access point to my property) and my own cat, which is constantly harassed by foreign cats, simply stared at the items and is now used to them. It would appear that the bad weather may have something to do with the fact that we have not been bothered since mid-November by cats."

"we have a cat and there are so many others in our area that they took over his garden and he started to become an indoor cat. I put one of these at a hole at the bottom of my fence as the other cats are too lazy to jump the fencing and it has not stopped them coming in all together as there are other entry points to my garden but it has dramatically reduced them coming in is the hole is their emergency escape when they are chased out the garden. It has also dramatically reduced the amount of poo I have to clean up every week as they are not coming in to use my garden as their toilet"

"I have previously purchased these cat scarers and could not believe how quickly they worked. The first set lasted several years but eventually water did penetrate and rusted the battery terminals so that they did not work. I have been without for about a year and all the regular cats avoided my garden - however there is a new cat on the block who was using my front lawn as a toilet every day. "This is a duplicate order of cat repellent - the first 2 I found quite effective. However the 2nd lot which has been put in the rear garden have had to be moved. There is a consistant cat which uses my borders for a poo. Have moved 1 repeller to where he was going but the crafty sod has started to do runny ones on the lawn. "I already have one cat repeller in my back garden which works very well. Cats still visit but creep along the rear shrubbery and out again the other side. No little 'gifts' are left for me to clear up. I still had the problem on the small area of garden in the front (I had a parking area laid out with permeable pavers). In fact I often ended up with even more huge piles of cat mess around the shrubs. Two cat repellers were purchased for the front. So far I've only needed one - worked like a miracle. I still see the cats (we have 16 in our cul-de-sac of 30 houses) looking perplexed, but, thankfully leaving my garden alone. I'm sorry if any of my neighbours are sufferers, but I've told them about Primrose! I think that the people who complain about this product just haven't taken the time to adjust and site it properly. I also move mine to new locations within the garden every few weeks. I'm not a cat-hater, but I just dislike shovelling their deposits when I don't own one !"

"Plagued by cat mess all Autumn and Winter. Neighbours own four felines between them. Have tried most things animal, vegetable, mineral and mechanical all with very limited levels of success. Do not bother looking anywhere else for your solution to this problem. Cat mess first night due to me not quite having the sensors properly adjusted. Since then not a sign and I was previously getting four to five deposits in different areas of the flower bed per night. Having the two units has meant that there are no dead spots, so no hiding places. I'll be buying more once I starting sowing my veggies. Fully agree with other reviewers. Small screws for battery compartment are fiddly but no worse than any other modern electrical item. Better instructions for range and sensor setting would be appreciated but these matters are trivial. The main thing is that these sensors are good value in comparison to others on the market and, most importantly, THEY WORK."

"Put one of the cat repellers together - could have had more instruction and a content list. I didn't notice the seal for the battery casing or the piece to enclose the top of the spike. Then I noticed a cat in the garden next day! However I also note it takes a while to put the cat off entirely - here's hoping!"

"They certainly seem to work, we haven't seen a cat since we put them in the garden. I do agree with all previous customer comments I read before buying, they are very fiddly to assemble with small screws and would suggest this could easily be improved and come ready assembled Apart from that we are very pleased with this and can recommend it 100%"

"Fitting together was easier than the reviews led me to believe it would be, too early to tell if total success as it's habitual cats I'm trying to get rid of but have seen a reduction in cat mess. Haven't got full coverage of garden with 2 so waiting to see if worth investing in 1 more to cover all angles."

"The sensor is supposed to be 6" above ground level but the spike is not much longer than that. The spike needs to be longer. The screws on the battery back-plate are very tiny and impossible to screw in all the way. Let's hope it is waterproof! There is no test mechanism to check battery strength. Otherwise, a good product. Can't say whether effective because ground is frosty and hard."

"This is the second pair of cat repellers I have bought. The first pair were for my mother in law's home in the town. I bought those about 3 months ago and they have really done the trick. Cats are no longer fouling her front and back garden. This latest pair are for my garden which is very big and in the country, so it remains to be seen how effective they will be in that environment. I'm hoping they will keep away deer, rabbits, badgers, squirrels, etc . I realuse they are not sold to deter all those animals but I thought I would give it a go. I"m not overly optimistic, but after about a week , I must say they do seem to be keeping things at bay as none of my plants and bulbs have been attacked since they have been in situ."

"Seems to work. Had no more cat poo in gravel areas of garden which were getting fouled. Ordered 2 more as other areas not covered by Repellers are now suffering. Hopefully they will be just as effective before resorting to more drastic action!!"

"Frankly I had little faith in my purchase as I'd tried a number of different ways to deter next doors cat for fouling our driveway (for 3 months). Set up the two repellers and apart from one incident 3 days later since then total success. Money well spent and may buy another 2 to get them out of the back garden as well. As an aside, my daughter's fiancee can hear them (only one who can) but he keeps coming back!"
